Under these headings our team listed everything we KNOW about the Olympics
Then we listed what we WANT to learn about he Olympics
and finally when we completed our research we will list our findings in the LEARNED column.

Rowandale WAHAROA and PRIDE values

Our learning journey this term has started with learning of
the story and symbols representing our Rowandale Waharoa.

The name of our Rowandale Waharoa is "Kia Eke Taumata"
Our staff was taken thoroughly through its meaning and its story by Mr. Vasau before the start of term three.

We revisited the meaning of our Rowandale School Logo

AKINA TE REO - Give TE REO MAORI a go! Day Two

Te reo Daily Phrase
KA WANI KE
You’re neat alright
or

You’re clever

What a great idea conjured up by Ninja Faith.
She came up with a creative idea to present our daily phrase with a kanikani (dance) and waiata (song).
Faith also volunteered to teach our class.
Ka wani ke Ninja Faith S
Ka wani ke Tumeke Taniwhas
Ka mau te wehi

Miss Sutton also shared with the staff how to correctly pronounce the months of the year in Te Reo
She also shared a very catchy waiata video that we can use to help us learn the months of the year

DUFFY ASSEMBLY - Government sponsored books

BOOK WEEK

DUFFY ASSEMBLY
Starting last week some of our Ninjas set out on a mission to design and create
our DUFFY book box for our DUFFY assembly.
Their brief was to create a design for our box based on a book character since it was Book week.
Ninja Faith came up with a brilliant suggestion
"because next week is Maori language week, how about we use Maui and the sun"
Since it was her idea she was in charge of managing the creation of our box.
A lot of work and contribution from other Ninjas made light work of the task.
The end product was amazing, it was a shame we didn't win an award but we absolutely loved our Duffy box.

Our special guest at assembly was our local MP
and great Rowandale School supporter
Louisa Wall
We learned a lot about Louisa as she shared her experiences and how important it is to learn how to read.
We also found out that she used to play netball for the Silver ferns and the Black ferns

The importance of reading played a big part in her sporting career as she needed to know how to read the moves they were going to perform on the field and on the court.

CONGRATULATIONS to ROOM 22 the Super Spartans
from the High Flyers who won the most impressive Harry Potter Character box.
